The ITPA [Informed Traveler Program Application] is a project currently under development at The School of Computer & Information Science at Florida International University, by the High Performance Database Research Center (an NSF Funded Research Center). The goal of the Project is to allow users of the application to use the latest in Multi-Modal Transit Way-finding to assist in the daily commute to and from the Florida International University Campuses and the Greater Metro-Dade County Metropolitan area. The application uses technologies developed at Florida International University to leverage the data which will benefit all users in their daily commutes. The current version provides many features to the end user to facilitate travel to and from the City of Sweetwater, FIU's Modesto Maidique and Biscayne Bay Campuses. The Application provides:

Our Application will provide campus commuters with on campus garage parking availability data in real time.
In future releases we will plan to provide Parking Lot availability as well as City of Sweetwater Street Parking availability.

In order to provide the intended services to the FIU visitor, the university collects the device id that is running the ITPA app and the position of the device while running the app. The FIU ITPA app may also employ “cookies,” which allows access to the Web server to better tailor the content of the app to a visitor’s specific browsing needs. The cookies used on the FIU ITPA app contain no personally identifiable information unless that information is provided directly via site form, survey or other opt-in method. While a Web browser does not need to have cookies enabled to browse the FIU ITPA app, specific site features may require that cookies are enabled.
The FIU ITPA app acquires but does not archive, rent, sell, or share any of the following information:
• Location Information: You must first provide permission through your device before FIU ITPA obtains location information from technologies like GPS, Wi-Fi, or cell tower proximity. You are able to withdraw your permission for FIU ITPA to acquire location information from your device using your device settings. FIU ITPA uses the information from within the app only to display your physical location on maps and display distances from certain locations and directions.
Third party apps, links, and widgets may also set cookies. Please note that third parties’ use of cookies and information that you provide to them is subject to their own privacy policies, and not the FIU ITPA Privacy Policy.
